From Corporate Operations to Building Offira
After more than a decade in corporate operations, I decided to take a two-year break from corporate life. I wanted to step away from the usual routine, explore, and experience life from a different perspective.
Part of that journey was spent living on a cruise ship. I met a lot of Filipinos from different backgrounds, and we often talked about work, family, and what we hoped to achieve in life. I got to know people who were skilled, hardworking, and good at what they did, but who also had to spend months away from their families to earn a living and build a better future.
It got me thinking. We have so many talented Filipinos. What if more of them could access international opportunities without always having to leave their families behind?
When I returned to the Philippines, starting a recruitment company wasn’t part of the plan. But as I started talking to business owners, I noticed a different challenge. They wanted to grow their businesses but struggled to find the right people. Some knew they needed help but weren’t sure what kind of support they needed or where to begin. Others simply wanted a partner they could trust to help them figure things out.
I started seeing the connection. Businesses needed good people to grow, and good people needed opportunities to grow with them.
That’s where the idea for Offira began.
Having spent years working in operations, logistics, finance, and service delivery, I’ve seen how much the right people and processes matter to a business. I’ve also learned that finding the right person isn’t always as simple as filling a vacancy. You need to understand the business, the challenges it faces, and what it actually needs to move forward.
That’s the perspective I want to bring to Offira. Not just to help businesses find people, but to understand their needs, explore their options, and find solutions that make sense for them.
At the same time, I want Offira to create more opportunities for Filipinos to use their skills, build their careers, and work with businesses beyond their local markets.
For me, this is about building something that creates value for both sides. Helping businesses grow with the right people, while giving talented Filipinos more opportunities to do what they’re good at.
That’s why I built Offira. And it’s what I want us to keep building, one partnership at a time.
